Abracadabra

Projet de diplôme, master design, espace et
communication, à la HEAD Genève. Juin 2019.

Diploma project, master of Arts in Design,
major in Spaces and Communication,
HEAD Geneva. June 2019.

Scenography of Abracadabra, a series of three lamps inspired by magic tricks (Flip Flop, Mrs Glenrose, Ribbon Spread). The result of a theoretical and practical research process on the links between magic and design.

The magician scene is reinterpreted to create an atmosphere of magic show with an intimist side. The structure, half marquee half theater scene, houses the collection. It is reminiscent of the traveling theaters with which the magicians of the early twentieth century took the road. The scenography was designed so that the assembly is optimized on site.
Three cards, each illustrating a lamp, are offered to the public during my graduation presentation which follows the progress of a magic show. Three times, a random person chooses a card, designating the piece of the collection I am demonstrating.
